The Essence Of Inuta

The Essence of Inuta lies in its deep-rooted history, cultural pride, and enduring unity. An indivisible and sovereign community in Ipole Iloro Ekameta LCDA, Ekiti West, Ekiti State, Inuta traces its origin to Ile-Ife through Oranmiyan, making it one of the ancient towns with royal heritage in Ekiti.

Formerly known as Apole Inuta before its amalgamation with Apa Iloro, the community stands as a symbol of resilience and leadership. Its founding father, Onuta Akomolila Tunlako, a direct descendant of Oranmiyan, was not only a hunter of great renown but also a wise leader, celebrated for his ability to resolve disputes and foster peace. His legacy of courage and wisdom continues to shape the identity of Inuta today.

Blessed with rich natural forest vegetation and home to the majestic Arinta Waterfalls, Inuta’s land reflects its beauty, strength, and connection to nature. The community is further defined by its distinct cultural traditions, such as Idi-Omo and Idi Ayan, which set it apart from its neighbors while preserving its ancestral heritage.

The governance of Inuta rests under the paramount ruler, the Onuta of Inuta, who is supported by his council of chiefs (Iwarefa and Ejeyin). The community’s throne is rotated among three ruling housesAganyinganyinodu, Akeremasogbera, and Olugunna Ekunpakoroensuring continuity and balance in leadership.

At its heart, Inuta embodies unity, history, and tradition. It is not merely a town but a living testament of heritage, a place where the past and present walk hand in hand, shaping a future rooted in identity and pride.
